Writing Standardized Work Forms
This book, the second of the series dedicated to standardized work, focuses on Standardized Work Forms writing, which is the first step to capture the initial operation performance.
Four standardized work forms are discussed:
Process analysis chart, STW combination table, SWT chart and Operator Work Instruction.
Standardized Work forms show the interaction between operator, machine and material. They are very efficient tools to uncover variability and wastes in the operator work. They are not the end of SWT deployment process as it is commonly observed but insteadthe starting point to establishing a safe and ergonomic work place, which delivers good quality products in a productive way.
Numerous examples, charts and drawings are used to explain the deployment of the tools and convey the knowledge effectively.
